Since at least the Seventies, the Roman Catholic Church has been seeking to return to the way it was 2,000 years ago, to the faith of the First Century fathers of the church. So it was wonderful news to read that the Vatican very recently issued a doctrinal note rejecting the Marian titles: “Co-Redemptrix” and “Mediatrix of All Grace” – titles which have been used in Catholic teaching in recent years. Thank God, Pope Leo XIV approved of this move since these titles were “theologically unhelpful, confusing and even always inappropriate.”
Now I am sure that many Catholics will find this hard to understand, as I would have years ago, until they find from the Scriptures the truth that will set them free. “Seek, and you will find.” (Matt. 7:7) Years ago I loved the “snack pack” of Scriptures we enjoyed in each Mass. But I was overjoyed when I began partaking of the “full meal deal” of the Bible. That was after I invited Jesus in to eat with me the bread of His word. Have you ever done that?
Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come to him and dine with him, and he with Me." (Rev. 3:20)
That was back in 1981, and thank God, the Lord has led me to much truth since then, as I share in my book-set, JESUS THE BRIDGE. As I sought first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, if what I was reading in the Bible differed from traditional Catholic teaching, I knew that God never lies. It is Satan who is the father of lies. Jesus is "the truth" and will baptize with His “Spirit of truth.” Therefore, my righteousness or the church's righteousness does not come first, but the Lord's righteousness does.
We were taught by the RC Church to go to Jesus through Mary, but Jesus taught His disciples to go to the Father through Him! It is written: "[Jesus said,] I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6) He is the only way;
It is also written: "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." (1 Tim. 2:5-6) The Book of Hebrews adds: "And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death." And that "He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood, Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." (Heb. 9:15; 7:24-25)
This eliminates the necessity for anyone else to be a high priest interceding for us, even Mary. And no one is equal to God as a "Co-Redemptrix." It was the blood of Jesus, and of no one else, which redeemed us. And saints, believers on earth, can mediate for us in prayer - but only because they are in Christ, THE Mediator. We are forbidden to contact the dead, even dead saints. (I go into this more in the book-set the Lord led me to write. The price is very affordable.)
Now you might say, "But what about all the messages our Lady gave us?" I too used to believe them. But God is the final authority, so I went to Him in prayer with a Messianic Jewish pastor, two in Jesus' name. I asked Jesus what He thought of all the apparitions of the Lady promoting the rosary, and He replied, "ILLUSION! ILLUSION! ILLUSION!"
Think about it. The devil is a counterfeiter. That pastor told me to read Deuteronomy 13. When I did, I could see that God had given us a test which the Catholic Church has been failing - until now! Glory be to God!
The saints in heaven, having received God’s word, are small g “gods.” Jesus said that God “called them gods, to whom the word of God came.” (John 10:35) But there is only one true God. And all grace flows from Him, “a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.” (Rev. 22:1)
“Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, and His Redeemer, the LORD of hosts.
I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God.” (Isa. 44:6)
Surely the real Mary would not call herself equal to God, equal to Jesus, who is God! Jesus alone is our Saviour, Redeemer and Mediator of all grace! To help people avoid the counterfeit by getting to know the truth more, the JESUS THE BRIDGE book-set was published. It is designed to help set Catholics free, rooting and grounding them more firmly in the faith of the fathers of the true church.
